IT IS TIME - FOR HARPER TO GO.
It's midway through election day -- and I feel the urge to write one more blog and do one more round of tweeting and posting to the social media sites. Amy Goodman of Democracy Now was in Vancouver on Friday - speaking at the Canadian Centre For Policy Alternatives (CCPA) fundraiser. She has a very down to earth way of weaving stories with historical references seamlessly making the feeling of making history tangible. She said something important to us in Canada. "For progressives the real work starts the day after the election." Especially if our hopes are realized and can get rid of Harper -- friend to corproate power and no friend to the people of Canada. Especially if you are a woman, young, rural, or Aboriginal.
If you are worried that in your riding the race is tight and the left vote might be split -- you can find out where the polls say this is a risk. Project Democracy makes it easier to vote strategically.
When Amy finished her talk with her characteristic cry "democracy now" the sold-out CCPA crowd erupted, because ther is a sense thatit could happen, and Canada, it really is time to take back out government!
So Canada VOTE. VOTE SOCIAL, and be prepared to roll up your sleeves tomorrow.
